Roots and Branches Video 1

Who is Timberline Lodge?

Timberline Lodge is a one-year Bible school and conference center located in the heart of the Colorado Rockies near the famous ski town of Winter Park.   Timberline is a member of Torchbearers International (Capernwray) and exists to proclaim the living Jesus Christ and to encourage all people to come to know Him personally in a life-changing manner.  Our vision is to cultivate Christ-centered Identity, Christ-led Community, and Christ-Empowered Ministry through Biblical Teaching, Relational Discipleship,  Intentional Community, Practical Outreach, and Outdoor Adventure.

What is the “Roots and Branches” Campaign?

The “Roots and Branches” campaign is a fundraising campaign launched by Timberline Ministries and designed to address a number of key foundational issues in the ministry’s physical infrastructure.   The vision of the campaign is to take the next 5-7 years to actively address some major concerns that have been a challenge for the ministry over its twenty-two year history.  By God’s grace He has produced significant fruit since the ministry’s beginning in 1995, but in many ways Timberline Lodge (the name of the actual structure) has functioned like a tree with green leaves and abundant fruit but with branches with real weaknesses and roots that are becoming more and more unhealthy.  The “Roots and Branches” campaign seeks to bring health to these roots and strengthen these branches for the glory of God.

What is the ”Taproot” project?

We are calling the first project in this campaign the Timberline Taproot.  Like a taproot in a tree, it is unseen and yet serves an absolutely important role.  Our “taproot” is a run down old sewage system that needs to be replaced before the end of 2017.   Without a new Wastewater Treatment Plant in place, the ministry of Timberline Lodge cannot continue.

What are the “Taproot” costs and timeline?

The projected Wastewater Treatment Plant is not just a simple leach field system, it is a fully operational Wastewater Treatment Plant that will take the sewage from Timberline and it’s adjacent lodge and treat it to such a degree that the water can be returned to the creek that runs just below the Timberline property.  With a price-tag of  over $500,000, the solution to this system was designed to not just meet our present requirements from the State but also to open up the possibility for future expansion and growth.   Our desire is to begin bidding out our project in late February and accept a contract by mid-March, this means that our fundraising window for commitments and gifts is quite small!  With a mid-march deadline to have a significant amount raised.

How can I help?

Give: Be a part of the “Roots and Branches” campaign by giving to the “taproot” project.  Sewage systems are not attractive but they are essential!   Prayerfully consider how the Lord would want you to give to His ministry here and step out in faith.  There is a donation button at the top of this page for easy and secure giving or call our business office at 970-726-8850 and ask for Diane.  Checks can be made out to Timberline Ministries Inc. and mailed to PO Box 3311, Winter Park, CO 80482 – just note in the memo line that the gift is for the “Roots and Branches” project.

Share: Let others know about the ministry and needs at Timberline Lodge.  This can be done through personal conversations, sharing social media posts, or creating your own personal campaign page on this site where you can share your story and set a goal for your friends (more information on personal campaigns will be coming shortly).

Pray: Pray that the Lord would give us wisdom and insight as we navigate this journey of a large-scale campaign.  Pray that hearts would be moved to give generously and that the fruit of their gifts would be fruit for the kingdom!

Thank you!

Thank you for reading this information and for considering a gift for the Lord’s work at Timberline Lodge.  Your generosity, prayers, and personal encouragements are so valued.  To God be the glory!
